Many, if not most, students expect hard copy, - books, CDs, etc., all of which have built-in problems. I am not suggesting that we try to live without publishers who, of course, have their own bills to pay, but hard copy usually means mass-marketing, which can only imply a dangerous homogeneity as well as a spurious sequence.
